When you read a story about a broken, self-hating, totally lost, confused man I'd say Colin is the most honest version of that man. He's angry and right on the cusp of destroying his life when he's saved by Rafe. They learn they both need to find themselves and a way to not hurt each other. We meet a gaggle of teens who are interesting and give Colin another thing to care about and Rafe in his way needs them for his place in this world. This story overlaps with Middle of Somewhere and Parrish does a great job of that. Daniel and Rex from #1 are still who they are and that's refreshing. It was totally fascinating watching Colin's mind work. He was a constantly evolving character.
