I picked up How to Read Literature Like a Professor: A Lively and Entertaining Guide to Reading Between the Lines because it looked like it might be insightful. It took me four months to get through it and you know what? I didn’t mind it at all. I don’t know if I’ll read like a professor but I do know I was turned on to reading outside my comfort zone and that's priceless. While processing what I was reading here I read Catch 22 and that was a gift I would have missed. Thomas C. Foster suggested at the end of his book something like, “Don’t read literature, read good writing.” I like that…a lot.
