Now this was a surprise! I didn’t expect BROKEN to be so enjoyable. Theodore meets James in an unfortunate way and they begin a difficult but completely fascinating relationship. Broken dealing with a very heavy subject but I didn’t feel Nicola Haken was allowing the story to become maudlin and depressing, thank goodness. The MCs need the readers love and Tess the BFF is a hoot and a good ear for Theodore. The mothers are opposite ends of the chart and that’s fine. This story comes with its own soundtrack. Yes, I played them on YouTube while readings. Good stuff. About the Epilogue, I felt again Haken gave me what I needed to let these people go. I was very satisfied.
