I just don't get it. Ann Somerville is an excellent writer and I just am perplexed as to why more people don't read her. Her Lost in Transcription takes place in a totally unique but see-able world different from ours. I've read a lot of sci-fi usually I’m disappointed with the world building but let me tell you that is where Ann Somerville shines. You can feel the heat. Feel the weather. See landscape and experience what her characters experience. This is a lovely story about the building of a family. Yum!
This was a gift from a book friend when I'd asked what happened to Somerville and this was her answer. Well said Sirius, well said
