Quiet & Understated

The Telling is a classic example of Eden Winter's quiet understated style of storytelling. Michael is back from the Armed Forces and it was not a positive experience for him at all. He returns to his southern, small town life and he meets Jay. A young man who has bonded with Micheal's family while he was away in a good way. All the characters large and small are well written. Jay is an especially wonderful character.
Keep in mind, no big bells and whistles. Just a clean slice of life.
