Long but Never Boring

Axel's Pup (Werewolves & Dragons Book 1) - Kim Dare

I was looking for something different from other shifter stories. Something with substance and great characterization. A friend suggested I check this out and boy am I glad. Kim Dare's take on Wolf Life and this world is definitely different and IMO its very much a plausible way people would treat others who are different.
Axel owns a bar/club and Bayden an obvious wolf walks into the Dragon's
Den. They slick right away but Dare takes her time letting their relationship emerge. Bayden learns how to be and live a way he never dreamed possible. To understand that there are options in his life. There are some sweet intense moments that are beautifully crafted and well thought out. It is a long book but it allows the characters to develop at a peaceful pace that to me felt complete.
I had gotten annoyed with Kim Dare because I thought she was only writing shorts but I think when she takes her time she really shines. She also uses varying styles of writing so The Avian Shifters, Pack Discipline and all her other series don't all read the same way.
Let this be a 4.5 stars.
