The Mating of Michael - Eli Easton

The Mating of Michael by Eli Easton was a damn fine read. First and foremost Easton did something that normally makes me crazy, angry - flashbacks. But these flashbacks were told in such a clean, clear, precise way that I was able to not just read them but follow them with a flow that didn't destroy the storytelling. Michael Lamont is a nurse who also has a very interesting side job that actually seemed important. James Galway is a science-fiction writer with all kinds of hangups and self-appointed stresses. The guy overall has zero confidence and building confidence is what Michael is great at. There were times in the story that I felt were so tense and made me worried and stressed out about how they would survive or overcome their personal hurtles I almost stopped reading a few times.
